Our Worship

Good Samaritan worships according to the Book of Common Prayer. We are a liturgical church, which means that we follow an order for worship having ancient roots. We are a sacramental church. Our primary worship service is Holy Eucharist Rite II, which means that we offer Holy Communion each week. We are a Christ-centered church, which means we proclaim the Gospel.

Our worship service consists of two parts – the Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Table. In the Liturgy of the Word we sing hymns, hear the reading of Scripture, listen to the preaching of the Gospel, and say prayers for our own intentions, the Church, and God’s whole creation. In the Liturgy of the Table we participate in the Eucharistic prayer, are fed by Christ in Holy Communion, and then are sent out into the world to do the work that God has prepared for us to do.

Whether you are very familiar with Episcopal worship or brand new to it, you will have everything you need to fully participate in worship in your bulletin each week. We cherish our worship and would love the opportunity to introduce you to it. We are confident you will be blessed and fed by it!
